Our Resident Birds*
All of these birds are permanent residents with us at the rescue. The reasons they are permanently with us can vary anywhere from medical conditions to severe behavioral issues. We are committed to providing them with the best care and love at the rescue for the rest of their lives, however due to the extra level of care required for these special cases they often require more expense. By sponsoring one of these birds you enable us to continue to provide the highest level of care for them.Â

Cotton
Cotton is a 36 year old Umbrella Cockatoo that has been at the rescue for 5 years after coming into us with cloacal prolapse. Her prolapse has required hormone injections as well as two surgeries to correct the issue. While she has remained healthy since her second surgery there is the possibility of the prolapse re-ocurring, so she is now a permanent resident. Cotton is a very happy girl and loves to welcome everyone who visits the rescue with "Hi Cotton!"Â
Chico
Chico is a 16 year old Scarlet Macaw who came into the rescue 8 years ago with severe aggression issues. He has since found a home at the rescue where he is very loved and spoiled.
Bea
Bea is a Double Yellow Headed Amazon in his 70's. While he doesn't enjoy being handled he does love to sing, and will happily serenade you with "Oh, What a Beautiful Morning" especially if you have his favorite "grapples".
Paco
Paco is 40 year old Blue and Gold Macaw who has been at the rescue since 2020. When he first came in to us he had multiple bacterial infections in his beak that had been left untreated for years, as well as a tumor that had to be removed for fear of rupturing. Due to how long he had to be under extensive vet care as well as the damage the infection has caused he is now a resident with us.
